Spanish Experience
Her vision of Hands on Spanish dates back to her early belief in the importance of learning Spanish as a second language. In fact, that very issue (Spanish as a Second Language) later became her platform when she won the Miss Conyers pageant and was in the Top 10 at the Miss Georgia Pageant of the Miss America system (televised on Atlanta's Channel 5). She spoke about her platform to tons of public school student audiences in Georgia and emphasized to parents and teachers the importance of teaching Spanish to all students and to start teaching it to them at a much younger age than they currently learn it.
Stephanie was interviewed by the Atlanta Journal & Constitution and by an Atlanta radio station about her platform, Spanish as a Second Language. She was recently (spring of '99) interviewed on "Spotlight on Atlanta," a Media One cable show about how she turned her pageant platform into a career and into her own company.
Stephanie voluntarily translates for strangers in hospitals, airports, schools, and anywhere the need arises. She has also volunteered her time and language skills by translating for the Loganville Police Department and for the Lakeview Medical Clinic (in Conyers, GA) and by teaching Spanish to missionaries headed to Spanish-speaking countries.
