Why Should You Learn Spanish? |

Meet New People |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Due to the fact that not many English-speaking Americans speak Spanish, there is a huge untapped market of Spanish speakers in the United States (remember, 13% of the US population is Spanish-speaking). If your company is capable of providing product information and / or services in Spanish, you will have access to a market in which there is relatively little competition. Not only will your sales increase, but so will your customer / client satisfaction. You will gain the trust of your Spanish-speaking clients and they will be very loyal to you because you are providing them with services / information in their native tongue, something which is not a common practice in the US. And as an added bonus, it is an excellent PR move. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Anyone providing medical services can benefit greatly from learning Spanish. Doctors, nurses, emergency medical service providers and pharmacists can all improve vital medical communication between themselves and Spanish-speaking patients by learning Spanish. This is an excellent way to build patient trust, loyalty and satisfaction. It will also be a great PR move and differentiate those health care providers who offer services in Spanish from those who do not. The total number of patients / customers will undoubtedly increase as the word spreads. Speaking the same language as your patients will also help you to decrease your liability. Accurate communication is essential in diagnosing, treating, and providing medication to patients. This communication can only be accurate if it is in the same tongue. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

COMPANIES WITH A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF SPANISH-SPEAKING EMPLOYEES |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| If your company has many Spanish-speaking employees, chances are that their turn-over rate is high. This is not typical of Spanish speakers, in general, just of those who cannot communicate with their superiors. Companies that offer information, training and services in Spanish have a much lower "Hispanic" turn-over rate. They also usually experience a higher productivity level. Think of any job that you have had where the tension was so great that communication with your boss was extremely difficult. This tends to weaken loyalty to employers and increase the desire to find more pleasant working conditions. This is how Spanish speakers feel if they cannot communicate successfully in English with their employers. When instructions are given to them in their own language, the result will be greater communication with them and greater loyalty from them. When communication improves, so do job satisfaction, retention, and productivity. For English speakers, this will serve to make jobs easier due to increased flexibility. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
