HOW ARE HANDS ON SPANISH PROGRAMS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SPANISH PROGRAMS?
They
are a niche between self-taught programs from bookstores / computer stores
and expensive, time-consuming college courses. Hands on Spanish programs are
affordable, convenient and need-based. If you need to learn specific Spanish
vocabulary for your job, you would inquire about a customized, professional
"Hands on-the-job Spanish" program. For
example,
"Spanish for Pharmacists" is a one-day
seminar with a complete manual full of only the Spanish that pharmacists would
need (i.e.: medical terminology, adverse effects of medications, etc.). People
who need to learn Spanish in order to make their jobs easier (or more profitable)
want to learn only the Spanish for their jobs. They are not interested in
becoming fluent in Spanish.
However,
many people do want to learn basic conversational Spanish for personal reasons
(enrichment, to further education, to get to know Spanish speakers, etc.).
For this group, I created WeBspañol,
an online language tutorial which has Real Audio to guide you through pronunciation
and also allows you to practice your conversational skills. You'll have your
very own computer tutor complete with an e-mail address, just in case you
have questions along the way! That's right! You'll actually have your questions
answered!
Hands on Spanish programs are also age-specific. The
WeBspañol
program is recommended for anyone 13 years of age or older.
The aforementioned "Hands on-the-job" Spanish programs are, of course, for
adults. If you are 12 years old or younger, or if you have a child who is
12 or under, you would use our
"Uno, dos, tres" program which was created
specifically for that age group. "Uno, dos, tres" is vocabulary intense and
visually stimulating. It also has Real Audio which demonstrates correct pronunciation.
It even comes with suggested activities which are, of course, Hands on !
